... although Adobe seems to have fixed their own notifications on the bug tracker

I buried this at the bottom of my previous article, but on reflection it's pretty good news in and of itself, so I'll elevate it to its own quick article.

The Adobe bug tracker seems to have started sending out update notifications at last!

I added a coupla comments / votes to some existing ColdFusion tickets this morning, and was surprised to see an email in my inbox shortly afterwards:

Dear User,
Bug 3641349 for the product "ColdFusion" that you submitted has changed. You can click 3641349 to view or update the bug.

Thank you,

Note that despite the wording, this is not a bug I raised, it's simply one I added a vote to.

I have never in the past received an email from the bug tracker regarding a status change, so this is promising. They did do some maintenance on the bug tracker yesterday, so perhaps it was enabling the notifications.

What remains to be seen is whether I only get notifications of my own activity (which is pretty much pointless), or I will get notifications of any updates people make to tickets I have previously participated in? I'll try to encourage someone to comment on some tickets I've voted on, and see if I hear about it?

Or, hey, someone from Adobe could just tell us what the story is, and what our notification expectations ought to be.

Anyway, any notification is better than no notification. So this is a step in the right direction.

Cheers Adobe.
