Lucee: Discourse vs Google group (clarification)

G'day:
Just to clarify the situation with which forums people should be using for general Lucee chatter: there are currently two different forums that have been variously promoted:

The reason for this is that during launch, there were some teething problems with Discourse, so the Lucee people decided to run with Google until the Discourse issues were ironed out, and some further testing was done.

Unfortunately this messaging didn't get across to all the parties who were communicating about the forums, and the louder of the two messages directed people to Discourse. This is where the confusion arose from.

My personal opinion is that Discourse is a bag of shite. It's a bit clunky, and it's very opinionated as to how one ought to conduct a conversation. And the opinions are ill-informed ones, IMO. So I'd much rather use Google, which simply gets on with it. But there will be as many people who think the other way, so I'll just use whatever is decided upon. At the end of the day: it's not a huge issue one way or the other.

At the moment, most traffic is going to Discourse, so I recommend using that forum. There's a banner message on the Google group saying it's being discontinued, but that - again - is premature: no final decision has been made.

In the spirit of open source and collaboration... if you have an opinion one way or the other, voice it in the community. At the moment: do this on Discourse. I'm going to raise a thread to discuss it, and will link back here once it's created. Done: "Discourse or Google".

Bottom line: at the moment anyhow, you should be using the Lucee Discourse forums. Not the Google one.

Or maybe not:

It's been switched back to Google Groups again. See "Lucee: like a scene from Chinatown"
