Waitangi Day again

G'day:
It's Waitangi Day again,(in NZ, anyhow... it's still the day before here in the UK) so here's some fluff about New Zealand.

This is a Kiwi:

Kiwi

So is this:

Self

And this:

Gavin
And so - apparently - is this:

Kai

Although I'm not so sure about that last one.

However this is not a kiwi:

That's a bloody kiwifruit. Get it right.

This is not a kiwi either:

But it's a bloody big bird. Called a Moa. Now extinct. Tasted too nice for its own good, apparently.

I'm from Auckland (largest city, not the capital; that'd be Wellington, where Kai lives), which is quite cool because it's basically made out of volcanoes. The most impressive volcano in Auckland is in the middle of the harbour, Rangitoto:

It's cool.

A lot of people get this idea that NZ is basically next to Australia, and is pretty much the same. But consider this:

New Zealand really is at the arse-end of the world.

Finally... this is ours:

We won it in the quadrennial war-dancing championships, as seen here:

Hands off.
